BIG Event at the Food Bank

The Houston A&M Club will support the campus Big Event on Saturday, March 21. Founded in 1982, the Big Event has grown to become the largest one-day student-run service project in the nation, exemplifying the Aggie Core Value of Selfless Service.
In solidarity with current students, we will host a special volunteer workday at the Houston Food Bank Warehouse on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 1 – 4 pm (arrive by 12:45).
Volunteers are not limited to Aggies, so bring your friends and family. Children age 6 years and older are welcome with adult supervision. Clothing restrictions are primarily limited to no open-toed shoes or flip-flops.

Note: The Houston Aggie Volunteers were started by William Wade ’73 in 1995 as an outreach program to show the Houston community the selfless service of HAMC. The Houston Aggie Volunteers do not exist to raise money, but rather emphasize assistance with physical efforts through labor and time. While the bulk of the Houston Aggie Volunteers’ work over the years has been devoted to providing manpower to the Houston Food Bank (and to a lesser extent to Habitat for Humanity and the MD Anderson Cancer Center’s annual Christmas Card Project), our volunteers have also donated many hours of community service to other charities working to benefit the people of Houston.
