There are 25 Aggies interred at the Houston National Cemetery, from Class of ’42 to ’07. A brave group of volunteers has mounted a full scale effort to put flags on every grave site in Houston and other National Cemeteries across the country. Our goal is to make sure we remember our Aggies. The Houston Ags are but a small group of the more than 3000 who placed flags on the 79,000 graves each Memorial Day, and then remove the flags a week later to be cleaned and stored for reuse the following year.
The Caring Aggies Mentoring Program is a long-term mentoring program through the Houston A&M Club where volunteers meet disadvantaged third grade students and mentor them through their high school graduation.
C.A.M.P. strives to mentor children as they develop through school and inspire them to pursue higher education by reinforcing excellent academic standards; building confidence and leadership skills; providing fun, life-enriching experiences and role modeling qualities of success.
Join the Houston Aggie Volunteers on the first Tuesday of each month and/or Multiple Saturdays at the Houston Food Bank! We enjoy making a difference in our community and operate with a “work hard, play hard” attitude. Don’t forget this is an excellent opportunity to fulfill the volunteer community service hours for high school, college and other community service organizations.
We volunteer on a Saturday each Spring and Fall every year, in most weather conditions. The shift is 8 am to 3 pm, lunch is provided by Habitat for Humanity volunteer organizations. The last several years we have worked with Habitat for Humanity Northwest, near Sam Houston Pkwy North and Hwy 249 (Willowbrook area). There are no particular skills are needed, other than two hands and a willingness to perform whatever tasks Habitat need that weekend. Since we are a volunteer organization, our volunteering is dependent on open available dates.
The Houston A&M Club is once again partnering with Wreaths Across America – Houston to raise funds for laying wreaths at the Houston National Cemetery. Last year donations allowed for wreaths at over two thirds of the 60,000+ gravesites. We need your help to meet the goal of all the gravesites!
To become a member of the Houston A&M Club, you only have to do two things: be an Aggie and live in the greater Houston area. It is that easy! We like to refer to it as Aggie 101.
Please pass this information on to every Aggie that you know in the Houston area. We look forward to seeing y’all at an event real soon!
Your donations keep us going.
$50 keeps you active.

A portion of every Aggie purchase made supports the HAMC’s mission to support Aggies and A&M.
