Baggett ’81\, Managing Partner\, Opportune LLP\, and Texas A&M Regent \n \nDavid Baggett is the Chairman and Managing Partner of Opportune. Prior to founding Opportune in 2005\, David was the President\, COO\, and CFO of a consolidation of construction companies comprising the largest residential plumbing and mechanical company in the U.S. with 6\,000 employees in 35 locations. He has over 40 years of professional experience\, over 35 years of which have been spent in the energy industry in various capacities\, including as an investor\, executive officer\, board member\, and consultant. \nDavid began his career at Deloitte & Touché where he became a partner leading the firm’s energy practice. He left Deloitte to be the Senior Vice President & CFO of a publicly-traded exploration and production company where he sourced and closed acquisitions and accessed the public and private capital markets. David has served on the board of directors of North Star Energy\, Marlin Midstream GP\, LLC (MLP)\, AMPAM\, Genesis Energy MLP\, Encore Energy Partners (MLP)\, and ERCOT. \nDavid was appointed as a member of the Texas A&M System Board of Regent by Governor Greg Abbott in 2023. In addition\, he has served on the Dean’s Development Council of the Mays Business School and is the longest-serving member of its Accounting Department Advisory Council. David was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the Mays Business School in 2011. In 2016\, he was recognized by the Accounting Department at the Mays Business School by being named to the initial class of its Accounting Hall of Honor. David graduated with honors with a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University. \nDavid is very involved in the community. He received a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. \nMr. Graham is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and has served SPE in various capacities\, including member of the SPE Gulf Coast Section Board of Directors\, Community Services chair\, inaugural board member of the Emerging Leadership Program\, and as Scholarship chair. Mr. Graham also received the SPE Outstanding Young Member Service Award in 2024. \nMr. Graham is a member of the Texas A&M School of Petroleum Engineering Industry Advisory Board and the College of Engineering Advisory Council.  He has served as chairman of the American Heart Association Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award\, director of the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association\, College Advisory Council\, and the 12th Man Foundation Board of Directors. \nMr. Graham was appointed to the Board of Regents by Governor Greg Abbott in 2019 and reappointed in 2025. He was elected Vice Chairman of the Board on April 22\, 2025. He serves as a member of the Committee on Facilities Planning and Construction\, the Committee on Finance\, and the Committee on Research. He has served as Chairman of the Committee on Medical and Health Affairs. Mr. Graham also served as Chairman of the Texas A&M University-Texarkana presidential search committee and as a member of the Texas A&M University-San Antonio presidential search committee. Mr. Graham serves as Vice Chairman of The Texas/Texas A&M Investment Management Company (UTIMCO)\, and a member of the University Lands Advisory Board. His term expires February 1\, 2031.
