Anyone that wants to join us is welcome. Wear your Aggie gear and please grab any Longhorns and any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nStarting on Tuesday\, March 2\, 2021\, we will be welcoming Aggies ALL DAY on first Tuesdays with the following shifts: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00-4:30 p.m. (Currently Not Available) \nEvening Shift: 6-9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. By registering in the Food Bank’s system\, the hours can be tracked throughout the year and downloaded at any time or pickup the certificate at the end of each shift before you leave. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Flags for Fallen Vets \nOn the day before Memorial Day the Houston A&M Club joins thousands of other volunteers to place over 80\,000 flags at Houston National Cemetary. No matter the weather\, all flags go out or none. The following Saturday\, rain or shine\, volunteers return to recover the flags\, clean and store them. \nThis year’s Flag Recovery will take place on: \nDate: Saturday\, June 5 \nTime: 9:00 a.m. – Noon (approximately) \nLocation: Houston National Cemetery\, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston\, TX 77038. \nWe will meet and start at Sections U/U1’U2 (at the back of cemetery) CLICK HERE to link to the Houston National Cemetery site and click on “Cemetary Map” on the right side of the page. \nAdditional Information: Please wear your Maroon and White and bring a 5 gallon buckets (or something similar to collect flags)\, rags\, folding or camp chair and water. There is currently a chance of rain\, so please check the forecast and plan accordingly. \nTo join us for this special morning of service please contact Jim Thorpe ’78 at thorpejim@comcast.net or 713-249-4678 by Thursday\, June 3. \nIf you cannot participate in person\, but would still like to help\, please consider contributing to Flagsforfallenvets.com for the Houston National Cemetery. She was recipient of the 2004 Buck Weirus Spirit Award and recognized in the 2018 Texas A&M 12 under 12 young alumni spotlight. She recently left the Trump administration\, where she was the senior attorney for energy development on federal land. She served in two roles at the U.S. Department of the Interior (1) Deputy Solicitor for Energy and Natural Resources\, and (2) Senior Counselor to the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management. And she also served as Deputy General Counsel of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Marcella recently returned to Houston and is a partner at King & Spalding\, where she leads the Houston office of her firm’s environmental practice group. She has three sons whose blood also bleeds maroon.

DESCRIPTION:The Houston A&M Club is partnering with the Houston Touchdown Club for this special evening honoring “Touchdowner of the Year\,” legendary coach Jackie Sherrill\, and celebrating the 100 years of Aggie Football since the storied game where E. King Gill came out of the crowd to stand on the sidelines beginning the Texas A&M’s 12th Man tradition. \n  \nDate: Wednesday\, October 27 \nDoors Open: 6:00 P.M. \nDinner and Program: 7:00 P.M. \nLocation: Bayou City Event Center \n  \nThe evening will include dinner\, a silent auction featuring Aggie sports memorabilia and a special program that includes former Gov. Wear your Aggie gear and please grab any Longhorns and any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nStarting on Tuesday\, March 2\, 2021\, we will be welcoming Aggies ALL DAY on first Tuesdays with the following shifts: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00-4:30 p.m. (Currently Not Available) \nEvening Shift: 6-9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. Upon arrival\, look for William Wade ’73\, one of our coordinators\, who will be decked out in aggie gear\, including a 12th Man towel. All first-time volunteers receive one of our coveted and stylish Houston Aggie Volunteers t-shirts. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. Volunteer jobs vary in size and scope\, but the vast majority of the work is done in air-conditioned areas and DOES NOT involve substantial lifting. DESCRIPTION:AGE REQUIREMENTS at the Warehouse\, 6 years old chaperoned\, 15 years old unchaperoned. \nCome join us the Second Tuesday of each month at the Houston Food Bank\, where we will be working on various projects\, such as assembling community food boxes and back pack buddy bags. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome. Wear your Aggie gear and please grab any Longhorns and any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nWe currently have two shifts available on first Tuesdays: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. \nEvening Shift: 6-9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. By registering in the Food Bank’s system\, the hours can be tracked throughout the year and downloaded at any time or pickup the certificate at the end of each shift before you leave. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. Since it is a warehouse environment\, everyone must wear closed-toe shoes (no sling-backs)\, long shorts (to the knee) or pants\, and no low cut tops (OSHA regulations).
