DESCRIPTION:AGE REQUIREMENTS at the Warehouse\, 6 years old chaperoned\, 15 years old unchaperoned. \nCome join us the Second Tuesday of each month at the Houston Food Bank\, where we will be working on various projects\, such as assembling community food boxes and back pack buddy bags. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome. Wear your Aggie gear and please grab any Longhorns and any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nWe currently have three shifts available on second Tuesdays: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. \nEvening Shift: 6-9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. By registering in the Food Bank’s system\, the hours can be tracked throughout the year and downloaded at any time or pickup the certificate at the end of each shift before you leave. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. Since it is a warehouse environment\, everyone must wear closed-toe shoes (no sling-backs)\, long shorts (to the knee) or pants\, and no low cut tops (OSHA regulations). DESCRIPTION:Come join us the Second Tuesday of each month at the Houston Food Bank\, where we will be working on various projects\, such as assembling community food boxes and back pack buddy bags. Anyone that wants to join is welcome. Wear your Aggie gear and bring any Longhorns\, other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) are welcome. Age Requirements at the warehouse are 6 years old chaperoned\, 15 years old unchaperoned. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nWe currently have three shifts available on the 2nd Tuesday: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. \nEvening Shift: 6:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget\, this can be used toward volunteering service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. By registering in the Food Bank’s system\, the hours can be tracked throughout the year and downloaded at any time or pickup the certificate at the end of each shift before you leave. \nNote: As this is a warehouse environment\, everyone must wear closed-toe shoes (no sling-backs)\, long shorts (to the knee) or pants\, and no low cut tops (OSHA regulations). Volunteer jobs vary in size and scope\, but the majority are done in air-conditioned areas and DO NOT involve substantial lifting. He joined the Houston Texans as the quarterbacks coach in 2023. \nThe Humble\, Texas\, native played in 37 career games at Texas A&M (2006-10) and completed 650-of-1\,109 passes for 8\,011 yards and 67 touchdowns. Johnson was the program’s all-time leader in attempts\, completions\, passing yards and passing touchdowns until QB Kellen Mond broke each of those records from 2017-20. \nJohnson\, who was Second-Team All-Big 12 in 2009\, was teammates with Rams OLB Von Miller and Titans QB Ryan Tannehill when at Texas A&M\, where Tannehill was one of his top receiving targets before he transitioned to quarterback. During his redshirt 2006 season with the football team\, Johnson also played on the basketball team for the 2006-07 season\, appearing in three games. \nJohnson’s NFL playing career\, which started after going undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft\, included time with Dallas\, Baltimore\, Chicago\, Seattle\, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. \nJohnson arrived in Houston after one season with the Minnesota Vikings as the assistant quarterbacks coach\, a team who finished the season with a 13-4 record and won the NFC North by four games. In 2022\, he helped coach QB Kirk Cousins to the fourth-most passing yards (4\,547)\, fourth-most completions (424) and fifth-most passing touchdowns (29) in the NFL. Cousins became the fifth player in NFL history to complete eight consecutive seasons with at least 25 passing touchdowns\, while his five consecutive such seasons is the longest streak in franchise history. The Vikings’ passing attack helped WR Justin Jefferson earn NFL Offensive Player of the Year\, first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors after he led the league in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1\,809). \nPrior to joining the Vikings\, Johnson spent three seasons (2019-21) with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2019\, he served in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship and spent 2020-21 as an offensive quality control coach. From 2015-18\, Johnson served on the coaching staff at St. Thomas High School in Houston\, Texas\, where he was the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator for his final two seasons. Johnson\, who played in the East-West Shrine Bowl in 2011\, coached in the same bowl in February 2022. \nAfter attending Humble High School\, Johnson was a three-star recruit as an athlete in the class of 2006. His older brother\, Marquis\, is the Vikings assistant strength and conditioning coach. Johnson is married to his wife\, Braidee. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Come join us on Saturdays throughout the year at the Houston Food Bank\, where we will be working on various projects\, such as assembling community food boxes and back pack buddy bags. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome. Bring any Longhorns\, any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Saturday. \nWe have two Aggie Volunteer shifts available: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. \nPlease wear Aggie gear so we can find you more easily! Upon arrival\, look for William Wade ’73\, one of our coordinators\, who will be decked out in Aggie gear\, including a 12th Man towel. All first-time volunteers receive one of our coveted and stylish Houston Aggie Volunteers t-shirts. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. Volunteer jobs vary in size and scope\, but the majority are done in air-conditioned areas and DO NOT involve substantial lifting. People with all levels of physical ability are welcome. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. Age Requirements at the Warehouse are 6 years old chaperoned and 15 years old unchaperoned. \nNote: As this is a warehouse environment\, everyone must wear closed-toe shoes (no sling-backs)\, long shorts (to the knee) or pants\, and no low cut tops (OSHA regulations).
