DESCRIPTION:AGE REQUIREMENTS at the Warehouse\, 6 years old chaperoned\, 15 years old unchaperoned. \nCome join us the Second Tuesday of each month at the Houston Food Bank\, where we will be working on various projects\, such as assembling community food boxes and back pack buddy bags. Anyone that wants to join us is welcome. Wear your Aggie gear and please grab any Longhorns and any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nWe currently have two shifts available on first Tuesdays: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. \nEvening Shift: 6-9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. By registering in the Food Bank’s system\, the hours can be tracked throughout the year and downloaded at any time or pickup the certificate at the end of each shift before you leave. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. Since it is a warehouse environment\, everyone must wear closed-toe shoes (no sling-backs)\, long shorts (to the knee) or pants\, and no low cut tops (OSHA regulations). Upon arrival\, look for William Wade ’73\, one of our coordinators\, who will be decked out in aggie gear\, including a 12th Man towel. All first-time volunteers receive one of our coveted and stylish Houston Aggie Volunteers t-shirts. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. Volunteer jobs vary in size and scope\, but the vast majority of the work is done in air-conditioned areas and DOES NOT involve substantial lifting. People with all levels of physical ability are welcome \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. Volunteer jobs vary in size and scope\, but the vast majority of the work is done in air-conditioned areas and DOES NOT involve substantial lifting. Wear your Aggie gear and please grab any Longhorns and any other school’s alumni\, friends\, family or coworkers that are aimlessly wondering what to do on a Tuesday. \nWhen you arrive look for William Wade ’73 who will be fully decked out in Aggie gear including a 12th Man towel. \nWe currently have three shifts available on second Tuesdays: \nMorning Shift: 8:00 a.m. – Noon \nAfternoon Shift: 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. \nEvening Shift: 6-9:00 p.m. \nDon’t forget that this can be used toward volunteering community service hours for those in high school\, college and other community organizations. By registering in the Food Bank’s system\, the hours can be tracked throughout the year and downloaded at any time or pickup the certificate at the end of each shift before you leave. \nFamilies (with anyone age 6 years or older) and friends are welcome. D.\, President & CEO – Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo \n \nChris Boleman\, Ph.D.\, was named president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ on May 12\, 2020. Dr. Boleman joined the Rodeo in 2017 as the executive director of the Agricultural Competitions and Exhibits Division. In 2019\, he was promoted to chief mission officer. A native Texan\, Dr. Boleman earned a Bachelor of Science\, Master of Science and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University\, where he also has served as Associate Professor. \nIn 2019\, under the direction of the Rodeo Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee\, Dr. Boleman was tasked to provide leadership\, oversight and management of the Rodeo’s reorganization plan in cooperation with the consultant team. He also led the implementation phase\, which took place in the Fall of 2019. Prior to his promotion to chief mission officer\, Dr. Boleman served as executive director of the Agricultural Competitions and Exhibits Division\, leading the livestock and horse show competitions\, auctions and wine programs. \nPrevious to him joining the Rodeo\, Dr. Boleman served as the State Leader For Texas 4-H\, where he was responsible for leading the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. \nThroughout his career\, Dr. Boleman has provided more than 800 educational trainings and presentations\, collaborated with experts in content areas to author more than 100 publications\, and supported and collaborated with organizations to provide subject matter expertise through instruction\, curriculum development\, and/or consultation\, with organizations including Texas Association of Counties Leadership Development Program for Judges & County Commissioners\, Texas Farm Bureau Young Farmer & Rancher Leadership Program\, Texas Agriculture Lifetime Leadership Program\, Texas Association of Fairs & Events Executive Leadership Program\, Texas FFA’s LEAD Program\, and Texas A&M AgriLife’s Early Career Leadership Cohort. \nIn addition to his education at Texas A&M\, Dr. Boleman has received the University Certificate of Completion for The Art and Science of Leadership Program at Harvard University and the Certificate of Completion for the Governor’s Executive Development Program at The University of Texas.  Just recently\, Dr. Boleman was named one of Houston’s Most Admired CEOs by the Houston Business Journal and Houston’s CEO 2022 Communicator of the Year by the Houston’s Public Relations Society of America. \nDr. Boleman is married to Dr. Randi Boleman\, who is also heavily involved at the Rodeo as a volunteer and Show Director. They make their home in Houston but still try and spend as much time at the family ranch in Brazos County. Dr. Boleman enjoys running\, reading\, writing and traveling. \n
